Evolution is a Scientific Theory, whereas creationism is a myth, being generous it could get to be a hypothesis, at best.

The process of differentiation that leads to species is one of mutation and replication of DNA. This is not a theory, this is a scientific fact.
Theists believe in talking bushes & snakes, witches, demons, a boat holding millions of animals-but evolution is unbelievable? HA! #atheism—

Read a textbook instead of ancient holy books. You will, at least, understand why a scientific theory is not just a theory.
Would you, in this era, call this a controversy?

WHAT CONTROVERSY!!?

You know, there’s no way by just looking at that picture that I can tell that they’re different shaped structures. The seemingly round Earth could just be the flat earth tilted towards us. I smell conspiracy and oh so much controversy. I think we should teach both possibilities, just to be safe.
um.. well, in that case, I need a 3D video and triangulation of Earth by NASA… where can I get one?

Happy Wednesday!
Wow….that video is horrifying.
Its just sick. There was hope though, when he was drilling into them the “How do you know?” question. Hopefully some of them will actually ask and get answers. I don’t have a problem with people believing in god, but this sort of thing is disgusting.
THe scariest fallacy being taught by the religious right in the USA is the Green Dragon. I wrote a bit about it at my blog, where I “liberated” the promotional video from their site. Not only is this “controversy” just flat out lies, it is potentially harmful to life on this planet.

Over here in Australia we watch this debate(?) with interest … I find it frankly scary that creation mythology is somehow given equal weighting with scientific theory. Green Dragon! Ayaaaah!
Creationism is “not even wrong”. That is it refers to a statement, argument or explanation that can be neither correct nor incorrect, because it fails to meet the criteria by which correctness and incorrectness are determined. Creationism claims two “ideas”.
The first, irreducible complexity, is an assertion not supported by evidence. The most famous example is a mousetrap that must have all working parts to function but mousetraps have been conceived and built with fewer and fewer components to demonstrate the falsity of this assertion. There is even one that is little more than a loop attached to a wall near a mouse hole.
The second, Dembski’s Specified complexity, or complicated things are too complicated so Goddidit is another nonsense assertion that makes no predictions and doesn’t stand up to reasoning and testing.
This is my long winded way of saying that creationism isn’t an hypothesis. It’s not even a guess. It’s religion, masquerading as science.
