As you can see, this task is a little overdue.
Good morning my awesome Tweeties. It's #AtheistSundaySchool, we are debunking misconceptions about #Atheism. You're an #atheist? Satanist!
— Monica McGee (@Monicks) January 9, 2011
It never ceases to amaze me that there are people who think that being an #atheist equals being devoid of any moral compass. #atheism

In fact, most of us, being #atheists makes us more cautious of how we shape our moral compass, we do not have an eternal forgiver. #atheism
— Monica McGee (@Monicks) January 9, 2011
When we #atheists fuck up, we have to live with the consequences, guilt & remorse, we have to learn how to forgive ourselves. That's harder.

I couldn’t have said it better, Rosa knew what I was thinking:

Indeed – we, as atheists, have it harder than theists when dealing with our mistakes.
@Monicks one of my fav annoying common misconceptions is that atheists have no morality.

@Monicks Because we are #atheists, we just don't understand/have knowledge of their belief. Here, let me tell you all about it…
— Tim (@unclepg) December 12, 2010
We KNOW most of religions, we have actually read their holy books cover to cover. We know better their religion than most of them. #atheism

@Monicks My mom thinks Athiests are devil worshipers, I keep telling her that Athiests dont believe in the devil

@Monicks // "God works in mysterious ways." He sure as hell does, its always been a mystery to me!
— Miranda (@Mirandacan) January 9, 2011
@Monicks I hate the misconception that we are cynical, unhappy, or angry, that we have no hope just because we're #atheist

Theists claim atheists are angry, then lash out with disproportionate rage and hatred when their beliefs are challenged. #atheism #atheist
— Monica McGee (@Monicks) January 9, 2011
#atheist aren't angry at god nor hate god, we'd have to believe in god in the first place. How can you hate something that doesn't exist?
— Monica McGee (@Monicks) January 9, 2011
If the god described in the bible existed, he would be so morally inadequate that he wouldn't deserve to be worshipped by anyone. #atheism
— Monica McGee (@Monicks) January 9, 2011
If the god of Abraham existed, it would be theists that should be ashamed & full of hatred, what an obnoxious jerk! Right? #atheism
— Monica McGee (@Monicks) January 9, 2011
@Monicks That I have no morals without god. That atheism is a "religion". could go on and on.

@Monicks One of most annoying is calling #atheism a religion. But w/ using terms lk #AtheistSundaySchool is it really that surprising?

@Monicks It's funny when xtians say atheists have no moral compass, but they themselves commit crimes against humanity EVERYDAY! Hypocrisy!
— Justin W. (@the90swasmine) January 9, 2011
So here comes my favorite-only because it's funny-misconception about #atheism – #atheists eat babies! Well, they eat zombie, that's gross!
— Monica McGee (@Monicks) January 9, 2011
Thankfully, we can eat baby carrots and baby corn to satisfy our urge to eat babies. Ha!
The worst one, I really can't stand it & no one mentioned: " #atheists can't love 'cause love can only come from god" OH PLUH-EASE! #atheism
— Monica McGee (@Monicks) January 9, 2011
We reviewed the whole “God is love” bullcrap in our previous Atheist Sunday School Do you believe in love?

The misconception that pisses me off is the belief that there are none of us in the foxholes. What? When did the military ban us from service??? Did any one of us that served stop being an Atheist because we got shot at?
The assumption that atheists hate god drives me insane. If you’re a christian, does that mean you hate buddha?
Absurd.
Oh! You are so right, Lili. I have not been shot at, but I had a terrible experience, you have probably read about it.
And just like that, I was dead.
I can’t wrap my head around the idea that just because you are in a terrible, life-threatening situation, you are instantly going to change your thoughts about what you haven’t been able to believe in during your “normal” day to day life.
By the way, I recently read an article, “Atheists Unfit To Serve.” Let me try to find that link for you.
Yes, Dan. Absurd pretty much defines everything that has to do with belief and blind faith. As soon as you start trying to find the logic in it, the whole faith thing falls apart.
But, like I said in a tweet, if the god described in the bible existed, I’m pretty sure I would not like him much.
Please do! I would be interested to see this article.
There you go.

Thank you! ^_^
My pleasure entirely. 🙂
