I told my children never to touch the fruit bowl. They were naughty and touched it though, so I threw them out in the middle of winter and cursed them to suffer horribly for the rest of their lives, and for all subsequent generations to suffer also. I forgave them by sending my newest child to them to be tortured and murdered. Am I a bit sick?

LOL that’s a nice metaphor for the metaphor of the garden of Eden. Never did make any sense to me that one…
You may call anything a metaphor, but the bible most theists take literally. They become deeply offended if you even hint that it might not be literally true in every word. Now, is that sick or what?
But don’t we all love a good drama.
Sure we do. That’s why we read books, go to plays and movies. The difference is, most of us know these things are not real.
DOWN WITH CHRISTIANITY!
Eve=Women. Women want stuff. Stuff = Apple. God says, I will provide stuff. Trust me. Eve says, nope I want an apple now, not when you provide it. So… she takes the apple when she shouldn’t from the tree of knowledge = farming. And now we have want, suffering, greed and envy. It is the story of man leaving his nomadic, day to day existence and starting on the ultimately doomed journey of being the masters of our environment. We are pretty shitty masters.
So… more akin to your son not liking what’s in the fridge so stealing your credit card details and ordering all the stuff he wants.
Don’t forget that what we call the “Bible” was APPROVED by a committee to subjugate the masses.
It does not make sense until you see what comes after all of this suffering. Ever tried to put a 8yo person in a high powered vehicle and just let em take off? You would never do that but you would wait until they grew up and then would have them trained how to handle it.
Something is going to happen to us that no one has ever imagined could ever happen. Something worth so much you would give all you had to possess it.
Gold striker, what are you talking about? Please elucidate. Your comment makes no sense. Please be sure your are sober, not high, or under the influence of even prescription medications before you answer. I could find no reference to anything in what you wrote.
I think he is referring to 2012. im sure you’re familiar with the mayan theiry that the world will be transformed when we enter into galactic alignment. Maybe goldigger is saying that after 2012 humans will be equipped to “make sense of what comes after the suffering. personally i have no idea what he is saying, but this is my best guess.

Yep! Emperor Constantine and whoever else got to pick and choose what would become the bible that so many today still take as the word of (their) god. Leviticus still makes me cringe. And as for all of those people that describe him as a Loving god, I refer you to the Story of Noah’s Ark. Please!! What loving god would kill all but 8 people on the planet? And even if Noah was so wonderful, what made his kids and in-laws so great? To be spared while the rest of humanity perished. Fairy tales!!
Continuing with the ark lie. Why were all of the other animals killed also? Then, assuming a minimum of about 3 million types of animals on the earth at that time, that means 6 million animals (two by two, remember?) were on a wooden boat about 450 feet long. Never mind that, to this day, no one has ever successfully built a wooden boat that size, even using modern tools and techniques.
Where were 6,000,000 animals, even young ones, going to fit. Then, include their food, the people who somehow were going to care for them, and their food, the story begins to fall apart.
IT is possible that there was someone that, fearing a local flood, put his immediate family, some possessions and a few livestock on a barge and rode out the flood for a few days. Maybe like a fish story, this became “slightly exaggerated” over a few thousand years. Then again, maybe the writers of the babble were simply liars. They have clearly lied in other cases.
Dude, I find you everywhere (online) I go. You are most certainly prolific. And I’d be very interested in finding a way of being an ex-pat. I am FAR from thrilled with the direction this country is going. I think you made the right choice!
Well said.
I will subscribe to the prior two sentences.
And 3 million species? Have you not heard of a thing called Evolution (yes, I’m being facetious)?
Thanks 😀 Well, I am retired now and have time to play on line when I am not exercising or at the beach. YOu can see some of my videos about here, exercise, and other things at http://www.vimeo.com or http://www.tubewatcher.tv In either, search on slrman and it will bring them up for you.
Like you, I was not happy with the direction the country was going. Fortunately, I found an opportunity here in Brazil in 2003 and took it. First in Rio, now here in João Pessoa. That job eventually evaporated, but I am still here. My other choice was Costa Rica but I understand it is no longer as cheap as it used to be. But, with the dollar an an all-time low against the Real here, things aren’t so cheap here if your income is in dollars.
In January 2003, the dollar was 3.62-1. This morning, it was 1.575-1, and that is up a bit from last week’s 1.56-1.
Evolution? Isn’t that “just a theory”? Like gravity? 😀
LOL! Sick bastard!
No.. Christianity? we should talk about theism….and subsequently non-theism. I’m not denying jesus or his daddy; I am denying the idea of all deities and and “creators”.
James, your arrogance is sickening. You need get yourself to Church and worship Him or burn in Hell, forever in Hell. Repent and face the lord, your God.
